The IIS IRIS van was introduced in 1997 as the first ever smart roadside technology for identifying unsafe CMVs in motion. The IRIS van is a completely integrated roadside inspection system designed to meet the needs of CMV safety inspectors. Custom manufactured with ergonomic designs and multiple integrated sub-systems engineered to maximize operational effectiveness, the IRIS van is the ultimate CMV safety inspection tool for law enforcement officers.

IRIS employs a military class thermal imager with industry leading functionality and sensitivity so that officers can quickly and accurately identify specific equipment malfunctions on passing vehicles in multiple deployment formats. IRIS components are certified from -30 C (-22 F) to 170 C (338 F) and stressed to withstand 2G constant vibrations and 5G impact force. Advanced software interfaces and communication systems support coordinated enforcement efforts
and remote deployment operations.
